This week, we’re bringing you the Playful Promises family of brands for spring/summer 2022. This includes PP itself, Deja Day, Felicity Hayward x PP, and Gabi Fresh x PP. There are even more collections, but these are the ones that include bras in sizes up to cup size UK G+.

Somehow, I missed seeing these in person at Curve Expo, but I wanted to share the new offerings anyhow. All of the styles you see here will be released several months from now and all are listed in UK sizes.

And don’t forget, if there’s something you like from the current season, Playful Promises offers an exclusive 10% off discount to Hourglassy readers, applicable to all the house brands on PlayfulPromises.com until the end of 2021! Enter code HOURGLASSY10 at checkout (limit one use per customer).

First up, we have Deja Day. You can read our previous coverage and reviews of this lesser-known brand HERE. Deja Day tends to offer smaller collections that are a little more curated. This season’s color story is sherbet all the way, featuring shades of pastel pistachio and orange creamsicle. All Deja Day wired bras are available in sizes 32-34 A-D, 36-44 B-H, 30-36 DD-H.

Here’s that pistachio I mentioned! This is the Grace mesh bra, which I get along with quite well in my usual 30G. Launching February 2022.
And here’s the second Grace color, which will be released in April 2022.
Adding to the pastels is the Rosalyn full-coverage lace bra in green and pink. Coming in February 2022.
Rosalyn will also be available in this magenta half-satin version, available in February 2022.

Finally, Deja Day is introducing an entirely new microfiber range made from 100% recycled materials. The collection includes crop, triangle, and plunge bra shapes, and several styles of no-visible-panty-line bottoms in black, teal, and desert rose. Sizes covered include 32A-G, 34A-FF, 36B-F, 38B-E, and 40B-DD.

Next up is Felicity Hayward x Playful Promises. This season seems to take inspiration from a mashup of planetary bodies, mythological characters, and constellations. I love the choice of style names! FH x PP also offers three size ranges for each item—Core, Fuller Bust, and Curve—so hopefully it’s safe to assume they’re all graded well for the particular size grouping. Overall, bands go from 30-44 and cups up to H. All of the FH x PP items will be released in January 2022.

We begin with Phoenix, a blush pink cage bra with mesh and feather details. A black version called Electra is also on offer.
Mercury is another style loaded with details—it’s got cage straps over the cleavage, under the band, and along the shoulder straps. How fun! The black version is called Orion.
Lyra is a slightly simpler design that’s no less pretty. I love the monochrome combination of delicate embroidery and piping along the seams.
I think Astrid’s merlot color and lace details give a distinctively baroque and decadent look—it makes me think of chocolate-covered cherries.
For something a bit lighter and sweeter, you have Luna, a pastel, sheer, embroidered floral fantasy.
Lastly, I’ll share the lace longline Vega—I can’t resist a good minty green!

Moving on to Gabi Fresh x Playful Promises… Gabi has been widely praised ever since her first bikini collection dropped several years ago, and her subsequent lingerie line with Playful Promises has lived up to the hype every season, in my opinion. I only wish they came in small bands too so I could wear them! A plus-size line, GF x PP comes in sizes 36B-44H.

The Clara style features gorgeous art deco-style embroidery and wide shoulder straps. Coming in February 2022.
Natalia didn’t catch my eye at first (a basic black bra? Ho-hum), until I realized it’s made of faux leather. Sweaty boobs aside, I love it! Available February 2022.
I wish there was a real photo of Alaina instead of just a drawing, because it looks really cute. Fingers crossed that the black trim and floral applique is velvet! Release in February 2022.
My favorite of the collection is definitely Leilani! I love a good star print, and the gold foil on a black base is so cute. This is another February 2022 release.
Last is Alice, in a stunning shade of saturated teal. I would really like to see this on a model because it’s got some really interesting cutouts and shapes going on. Launching May 2022.

Lastly, we have the actual Playful Promises house brand! The autumn/winter 2021 lookbook (whose styles are out now and in the coming winter) listed available sizes as starting at 32 bands even though PP has always offered 30 before. But the styles that are currently available on the PP website start at 30. And all the bras from the S/S22 season are listed as coming in 30-44. So perhaps it was just a mistake in the last lookbook?

In any case, all these items come in sizes 30-44 and up to H cups.

I think the Dakota bra is an absolute showstopper. In case you can’t tell from the photo, it’s got emerald green embroidery and gold embroidered snakes. So gorgeous! Launching December 2021.
I love little crystals on lingerie, and the Nola set is no exception. It looks so twinkly! Coming January 2022.
Another twinkly option is the Olivia set in black mesh and satin with more crystals. That waspie is kind of a weird shape, though, with the upward curve along the top. Available April 2022.
Next is Ramona. The upper cup edge and horizontal seam are part of the actual structure, then all the other lines are straps that rest on top of the cup. I think it looks cool in theory, but you’ll notice some of the straps on the model are loose and aren’t even arranged symmetrically on each boob. Not sure what was going on with the styling here! Coming January 2022.
As mentioned before, I love minty green clothing and lingerie! The Fenella longline bra definitely fits the bill. Release April 2022.
Perhaps my second favorite after Dakota is the Eddie bra in this incredible grassy green. How often do you see lingerie in this color?? I’m also a fan of the criss-cross and mesh overlay details. This one also comes in black and red. Green and black will be out in January 2022, while red will follow in March.
Lastly, I didn’t think the designs of Ziggy (pink and yellow) or Cassia (blue) were anything groundbreaking, but I love the look of all three colors together. It reminds me of candy buttons! All three will be released in March 2022.
For those who aren’t familiar, these are candy buttons. They come on a strip of paper, so when you pop them off, you inevitably end up eating a tiny bit of the paper too. I loved them as a kid, but tried them again recently and they were disgusting! Like eating sugary dots of chalk.
