It’s taken four years, multiple conversations with Diana St. Louis, and a Fit & Active September challenge, but I’ve finally tried Bijte, and it is beautiful. It’s exactly the camisole I want to put on at the end of the day over a pair of drawstring pajama bottoms.
My absolute favorite feature is the triangle top. It’s made out of stretch charmeuse, but because it’s a woven and not a knit, the fabric holds you in and up instead of letting you fall forward and down. The generous gathers along the center ensure plenty of room for large cups, and there is absolutely no boob bifurcation. I also like the interior mesh sling to keep things from going east-west.
My second favorite feature is the mesh bodice the follows the line of the torso. Bijte sells beautiful babydolls, but a babydoll feels like bedtime to me. With its streamlined shape, this camisole bridges daywear and nightwear during the hours that I still want to be productive.
There’s only one negative about this cami: it doesn’t fit 34GG me. If you’re interested in owning a piece from Bijte and study the size chart in Holly’s excellent interview with Diana, my advice is to size up in the underband measurement if you like your bras tight. My underbust actually measures 37″ after I’ve taken in a breath, so I should have looked at the recommendations for a 38 band, which ends at an F cup. No wonder I could barely squeeze the camisole’s band over my breasts! The silk is stretchy, but not that stretchy. Once I had it on, the triangle top centered nicely over my breasts, but the amount of side boob on display made it obvious this was not the size for me.
Sadly, I’m returning this beautiful cami and continuing my search for end-of-day loungewear that doesn’t make me feel like it’s time for bed. If Diana were to increase the cup size and add a zipper or hooks to help the band slide past my bust, I’d buy it again. I’ll also take another look at it after a few more months at the gym.
Speaking of taking another look, I highly recommend reading Sweet Nothing’s fun review of the Bijte halter babydoll.

More sizes that don’t work for me but might work for you . . .
- That adorable Betsey Johnson coat I ordered in size 16 is too big for me, so the Lauren drape front coat wins!
- Have you heard of Ampere? One of its co-founders, Jiabei Chen, is an attorney-turned-designer like I am! (The other co-founder, Yun Ah Lee, is a private-equity-professional-turned-lingerie-designer.) As well as the regular sizes that almost everyone carries, Ampere offers beautiful lace and silk-lined bras in 28 and 30 bands that go up to a British E. When you order a bra, they include sister sizes in the shipment for you to compare against, plus a free pair of matching panties. They’re now ready to offer Collection II, consisting of a silk tee shirt bra and strapless bra. Consider contributing to their Kickstarter campaign so that they can bring these lingerie must-haves to market.
I can’t wait to see what you turn up for larger-sized loungewear. I tried Bravissimo recently, and it was god-awful.
Brastop has a bunch of Kris Line stuff on super sale now! I know you had good luck with that before. So sorry this didn’t work for you – it’s gorgeous.
