When I first saw the three new prints available in the Krokus dress from Urkye, I didn’t think I would order one. I’m not generally into prints and the dress has pockets that cannot be removed.
However, since Bravissimo has stopped selling clothing I have been buying more from Urkye and I decided to give the dress a chance.
I’m so glad I did! I ordered the Krokus dress in the pattern Poison Garden in size 46 2/3. It’s pretty and feminine and I felt great wearing it to an event this weekend. This dress makes me think of vacations and sunsets. For reference my measurements in this dress are 49-40.5-46 inches and I’m 5’7.
I’m currently rebuilding my clothing after many years of trying to have the perfect minimal capsule wardrobe. It feels great to own a beautiful dress that maybe I won’t reach for every week but is there when the temperature rises and I want a casual but still polished look.
Giving up on the perfect minimal capsule wardrobe is one of many big changes that I’ve made in my life. You haven’t heard from me much because I moved back to Berlin in January for my job and became a Senior Manager in the same position last summer. I’m finding management extremely rewarding but also feeling pushed out of my comfort zone on a weekly basis. Life in Germany has settled down for me and I’m hoping to continue to share my thoughts and clothing experiences with all of you wonderful readers.
And as an added bonus picture, I wore the Urkye Koperta dress in deep green in size 44 2/3 to work from home the same day.
Both dresses are beautiful on you, Jen! I’ve always wondered if you were going to try outfits whose bottom half flared out a bit. The added volume on bottom balances your shoulders and chest. The Koperta dress’s v-neckline is somewhat more flattering than the wide scoop neck of the Krokus dress. Overall though both are harmonious with your figure. Excellent choices!
Good luck and congratulations on your new job in Berlin!
I’ve been eyeing that Koperta dress in the dark green. Green is my very favorite color, but it is a difficult color to find in clothing. Unfortunately, although I love Urkye tops, I have not had good luck with their dresses. They tend to be very short-waisted on me, with the waistline seam hitting up around my ribcage (I am 5’9″). The one thing that might persuade me to take a chance on it is the pockets. I NEED pockets in my clothes, and I have stopped buying skirt, pants, or dresses that don’t have any. I find that the pocketless dresses I own end up not really being worn much, no matter how beautiful they are or how much I love them otherwise, simply because I am so annoyed by the lack of pockets.
Simply perfekt style!
Thank you for reviewing – I find their sizing variable enough that it’s a gamble.
Nice dress! This is the prettiest dress I’ve ever seen Fit is the most important thing of any outfit. If the clothing doesn’t fit well, it can raze the entire look.
