With Covid-19 still raging, this season’s Curve Expo (showcasing Autumn/Winter 2021 releases) obviously could not take place in person. But the Curve organizers did a wonderful job creating an online-only event, with an easy-to-use system for introductions and networking and useful video sessions with the participating brands.

I’m sad to report that some of our usual favorites didn’t participate and didn’t respond when I emailed them to ask whether they had any press releases or lookbooks they could share with us (hello, I’m trying to give you free press here!). But I’m happy to report that the brands we were able to connect with were incredibly open and have lots of beautiful styles coming out this autumn and winter.

This week, I’m focusing on three brands that fall under Easton International, a wholesaler that represents a wide range of European brands in the US. Easton are big supporters of the full-bust market, and encourage all their collaborators to increase their cup sizes beyond E. So we love their work! The trio I’ll feature today are Aubade, Berlei, and Conturelle.

Aubade is a French brand we’ve covered before. We love their delicate details and oh-so-pretty designs. They go up to a European G cup in many styles. The AW21 collection features some stunning jewel tones (especially emerald and sapphire), a new sustainable line, and a new wire-free bralette, in addition to fashion colors for several continuity styles. Bra prices range from about $125 and up.

A note on sizes: European sizing doesn’t use double-letters. French bras tend to run deeper in the cup than UK brands so don’t necessarily follow a one-to-one conversion from UK to Euro. The last time I tried a French bra in size 30G (not Aubade), I was mostly wearing UK 28G/30FF. I found the 30G to be one cup small, so I suppose a French 30H would have worked for my then 30FF size. Today, I’m more consistently a UK 30G, so I estimate that I would need a French 30I (which is also my usual US size conversion).

Aubade can be found on HerRoom and Amazon, among other retailers.

“Joyau Eternel” underwired half-cup bra in Royal (a combination of sapphire blue and champagne with gold lurex accents), up to G cups. This line also offers a full-cup style up to G cups. A second color, Opal, combines vanilla and beige tones with silver lurex accents for a perfect bridal option. (Coming in June.)

The “Softessence”  collection is made from 100% recycled embroidery (tulle and embroidered thread) and features velvety accents.

Next up is Conturelle, a German brand that offers what I would describe as “elevated simplicity.” Once again, the brand follows European cup sizing. Bands range from 30-44 and cups top out at a European I in some styles. Bra prices range from $74 and up. Conturelle can be purchased from HerRoom and Amazon, among other retailers. Here are some of the G+ designs that I liked best:

“Silhouette” wired spacer bra (continuity), up to G cups.
“Idealist” wired spacer bra (continuity), up to G cups.
“Provence” wired bra (continuity), up to I cups.
“Moments” wired bra (continuity), up to G cups.
“Bloomy Days” wired bra, up to G cups. Coming in August.
“Luxury Desire” wired bra, up to G cups. Coming in August.
“Secret Garden” plunge bra, up to G cups (also comes in the wired bra frame up to G cups). Coming in August.
“Secret Delight” wired bra, up to H cups (also comes in a wired molded bra up to G cups). Coming in September.
“Serenada” wired bra, up to H cups. Coming in September.
“Joy” wired bra, up to H cups (also comes in a wired molded bra up to G cups). Coming in August.

Finally, we have the UK brand Berlei. It combines innovative fabrics and attention to fit. You may recognize it from tennis player Serena Williams, who has worn their sport collection on the court many times and used to be a brand ambassador. The styles are fairly basic, but the size range goes up to a UK G cup and the prices are quite reasonable, starting as low as $35. Berlei can be purchased from HerRoom, Amazon, and the Berlei website.

Here are some of the styles that go up to G cups:

“Beauty” minimizer bra in Burgundy, 34-44 C-G.
“Embrace” side support bra, 34-44, up to G.
“Beauty Stripe” smoothing bra, 34-44 C-G.
There’s also this “Beauty Stripe” non-wired bra, but its details aren’t in the pdf that I’ve got so I can’t confirm the size range. However, the similar “Classic Full Cup Front Fastening Bra” on the Berlei website comes in 34-46 B-E.
The “High Performance Underwired Bra” is the only sports bra that goes up to G, the other models stop at DD or E. It’s designed for high-impact activity and is encapsulation-style rather than compression, featuring silicone-encased wires and straps that can be worn standard or cross-back.
