Spring has officially sprung and with the sun shining, birds chirping and temperatures reaching into the 40’s (that’s pitiful), I’m inspired to start building my warmer weather wardrobe.

Before I start looking around online and in stores, I always think it’s a great idea to go through my closet to see what I already have. Not that I have a lot of clothes, but after I haven’t laid eyes on a garment for six months, I sometimes forget it’s even in there. Spring cleaning of closets results in many “Oh yeah, I forgot I had this” moments. It’s also a good way to get rid of what didn’t work last year and serves as a reminder of what really works for me.

After taking stock of my closet, I checked out what Pepperberry has to offer for Spring. Now I know that folks have mixed feelings about Pepperberry–shoot, I have mixed feelings about Pepperberry. With that being said, I always start a season by looking at their offerings because I’ve found that when they get it right, they get it RIGHT!

I found three dresses from their Spring Collection that I’d like to add to my wardrobe that also received positive reviews from customers. Tip: When shopping online at Pepperberry, ALWAYS read the customer reviews and read them all. You will often find reviews specific to your body type/shape.

The Floral Full Skirt dress was the first to catch my eye. The combination of a fitted tank top and a full skirt are not easy to find in a dress that can be worn in a casual way. The neckline is low enough to be fun without being revealing.

Next up is the Full Skirt Spot dress. I’m a sucker for polka dots and this shade of green screams Spring. This would be perfect for any event at my children’s schools.

Side Note: As a woman who isn’t in love with her arms right now, I truly appreciate a warm weather dress with a proper sleeve. I hate the strange cap sleeve that Pepperberry has done so often. You know, that cap sleeve that says “Hey, did you see that flabby part of my upper arm? No? Okay, well let me pinch it off and puff it out for you.”

Sorry about that.

Back on topic, Mia.

I just started wearing maxi dresses last year. Now I adore them. The Crochet Back Jersey Maxi wants to be in my closet! I’m going to hold off on ordering this one as it has yet to be reviewed but it’s always nice to look fab coming and going.

I decided to browse the Sale section and found the Pleat Detail dress. I was surprised to see that such a well reviewed item was not only on sale but also still available in almost every size in both colors. The right boob area looks a little wonky to me but it isn’t mentioned in any of the 11 reviews.  This dress is on sale for $73.99.

I’ll be hitting the streets for next week’s column to see what some of the major stores are offering us for Spring. I will surely be going to H&M and Marshall’s (my favorite hit or miss discount store). If you have any other suggestions for what stores you’d like for me to visit please let me know.
