A few weeks ago I wrote about my personal shopper experience at a local department store Stockmann. One challenge I gave to Else, the personal shopper, was to find me a classic minimalist wool coat. I was sick and tired of trying on wool coats that would not fit around my bust. I didn’t get my hopes up, but I was pleasantly surprised–even stunned.
This Filippa K Ines coat is just perfect. It’s an unlined boiled wool coat with raw edge details, belt, clean look side pockets and generous volume and length for a minimalist look. I’m showing the coat in peanut color to give a better idea of the cut.
This collar can be folded in a more angled way to suit the busty women better as was shown by the personal shopper. Also it can be buttoned up.
Above, the coat is worn with the belt tied to the back. It’s surprisingly warm given that it is unlined, but boiled pure wool is amazingly warm.
I think this coat will last me for a long time, and it’s a style that won’t get boring. Somehow it’s odd but nice to put it on as it does feel a bit like a thick wool cardi. But the raw edge details make it just my style. Nothing too fussy.
I’ve been feeling like Nordic brands have started to become more bust-friendy, just like this coat, as it actually fit best in size M and we started from XL. To my surprise, it seems that European brands in general might be getting a tad more bust-friendly, as I also found a Mexx tailored dress with a back zipper that fit me without a glitch! It will be interesting to see if this trend continues.
That is a gorgeous coat – thanks for writing about it!
I love the look of this coat. I just bought one of these Wool Coats from Burlington Coat Factory. They had great deals there.
