Recently, I sorted all my clothes and pulled out my spring and summer clothing. After finishing this process, I felt that I needed a new summer dress or two. Naturally, my first stop was Urkye, I headed to their website, where I bought two summer dresses and another Kopertówka wrap top. For reference, my measurements in these pictures are 50-41-46 (127-104-117 cm) and I am 5’7 (170 cm) tall.
I love the teal color of this dress and the longer elbow length sleeves.
I am wearing the dress in size 50 2/3.
The belt is attached at the side seams which means that you will never lose it but I would prefer if the belt was detachable.
I can see myself wearing this dress to the office or out to dinner with friends and I just feel so pretty in it.
I don’t own many printed dresses but I love the colors in this one and it also matches a Bravissimo jean jacket that I already own.
The dress is size 50 2/3 and the jacket is 18 Super Curvy.
This is the first time that I have ordered size 50 2/3 and as you can see this dress is more fitted in the skirt than the previous one is and it is too big in the hip area on me. I haven’t done so yet, but plan to take in the side seams. I also plan to shorten the dress to above my knees.
Long time readers may remember my constant complaints that Bravissimo made all their dresses too short. I love that Urkye dresses tend to be longer making them more accessible as you can shorten a skirt or dress but you can’t make it longer. And if you didn’t know, Urkye will shorten dresses and sleeves at no additional cost (this does make the items final sale). I asked but they don’t remove pockets, luckily neither of my new dresses have pockets.
The Kopertówka is a familiar style on me. I am wearing size 48 2/3 and I requested the sleeves to be shortened to three-fourths length.
I tend to tuck in this style of top, but below you can see me wearing it untucked.
I’ve already worn this a few times and expect to wear it multiple times this spring.
As a reader request, I am wearing it here with the black American Eagle Outfitter bootcut jeans.
While, I write this I am wearing an older Urkye black sweetheart neck top (I also own this in hunter green and royal blue!).
Have any of you bought new dresses for spring and summer yet?
Clearly Urkye suits you, Jen! It’s amazing how flattering these clothes are. The swingy skirt on the first dress has a similar effect as boot cut jeans: they balance out a full upper half. I’ll bet you could get away with flared jeans. You have the height for it.
I wouldn’t take in the side seams of that cute printed dress. It’s perfect as is. This particular print’s scale, spacing, and colors work well for you. The shoes you chose go well with it.
The crossover neckline tops you have in multiple colors could possibly benefit from being shortened a couple inches. That would prevent the hem from cutting you in half when you wear them untucked. That would give more of the one-third to two-thirds ratio that is so pleasing to the eye.
I think teal is a great color for you.
Urkye just emailed news of a 15% off sitewide sale!
The Urkye line is so comfortable. Well-fitting and beautifully-made basics. Love the new dresses they just released for summer. Finally, a brand that sews for real curves!
I thought I left a detailed comment analyzing these pieces. I’ll just say now that I wouldn’t take in the short floral dress at all. It looks perfectly proportioned as is. Urkye is such a good brand for you!
