Last Sunday afternoon I decided to go to Stockmann, a large department store sort of like Macy’s, to bravely try on summer clothes and maybe find something that fits.

I’ve had some luck with Gerry Weber clothes, so I focused more in that section in the wome’ns wear department but despite liking especially this next outfit I did not purchase it as it’s a bit of a yay or nay situation. Both the top and the trousers are extremely light and airy and most definitely smart enough for any of my work meetings. I wonder if this outfit adds a lot of weight or not–I’m so used to wearing knee length pencil style dresses that this style is out of my comfort zone but still like it but just not sure.

The trousers are a good fit and the top doesn’t gape, sort of. I need to pull the hem down and then it doesn’t gape but for some reason it tends to easily rise higher and then there will be gaping. Odd thing, as if the back is pulling the front.

I also picked up this shirt dress off the rack just to give it a go, albeit in a size bigger than my normal size would require. The dress has nearly no stretch to it so no hope with my bust in my normal size. I feel it still doesn’t look too big at all, although I don’t need to open the side zipper to get into it.

With the zipper one can adjust how much cleavage to show. In the top picture the zipper is fully zipped up. What bothers me is that somehow I would like the v-neck in the center and not in an angle like this dress. But the shoulders are really a no for me,. My wide shoulders do not fit in the more narrow space in the dress tailoring. I’ve never had this issue with Gerry Weber clothes.

The color of the dress would’ve been my thing just a few years ago, but now I’m in navy, black or bright color mood. But it was still very interesting to try something like this on to explore my opportunities.

You can see some dresses hanging in the dressing room there, but those were such failures that I wont even post them 😀 There were unfortunate stripe bust-enhancing effects and tight fits over the bust.

Well, ok, I’ll share the French Connection dress in navy that wasn’t a total failure but still not a great fit, at least as intended in my opinion.

Also I really do not need to buy clothes now that my budget is going towards the large scale home renovation which is still ongoing but soon ready. And I will be going to NYC for a shopping trip soon. [Darlene’s addition: Tina will be in town for our Big Bust Clothing Swap!!! Come meet her!]
