I’ve chosen the Ava dress to wear to the event I must attend on the 22nd. Â Unfortunately I won’t have the dress in my possession for another week.
How often must we go through this? Â We can’t grab something off the rack so we have to anticipate what our problems with the garment may be and prepare for them.
I know there are issues others have had with the dress being too revealing, so I am trying to trouble shoot. Â I’m thinking the problem may be solved by wearing a black satin bra underneath.
I could use double sided tape to hold the dress/bra in place. That way if the dress seems to be too revealing, the bra of the same type/color fabric will make up for it.  I’m looking at trying the Bravissimo Satine in black.
If there are any other suggestions I am completely open to hearing them. It’s times like these that I wish there were a black satin long line in my size.
I just know that my husband is in love with this dress for me, so I’m determined to make it work. Can we put our heads together on this?
I have a dress with a similar neckline, and I bought a stretch satin slip in black to wear underneath. It smoothed the lumps a bit, and provided a little modesty around the neckline.
Ooo! That’s a great idea Di. Being that it is a satin dress, I’ve been thinking about how to smooth any lumps that may show.
use Hollywood Fashion Tape instead of normal double stick tape if you plan to go that route
personally I think I would go for black camisole under the black bra
Thank you. I’m going to try to find that tape.

I was going to suggest a satin camisole (slip would work too) underneath. Even one in a contrasting color would look nice I think (for example: an ivory one).
The only issue I worry about with a satin camisole or slip is it moving, shifting or bunching up under the dress. There will be lots of dancing and I don’t want to be fiddling with/adjusting it all night.
I’m a huge fan of Perfect Camis. The second base ones don’t work on my short torso but might for you…
