This is going to be a really quick review because I want to get it to you before you finalize your holiday wardrobe plans. When I went to check my mailbox this morning, the Jailyn velvet tank top in wine was waiting for me. I had initially declined Jodi’s offer to send me a review sample because my waist is 1.5″ past the largest waist measurement on her size chart, and my bust is 1″ past the largest bust measurement. She suggested I try it anyways because it makes a good layering piece, and I accepted in hopes that something magic would happen.

Magic happened. The Large Extra-Full fits me perfectly.

I’m leaning forward in this photo to show that there’s the barest hint of cleavage, making this top ideal for work parties.
I’m lifting my arm to demonstrate two things: (1) the side of my Prima Donna Deauville doesn’t show at the armholes; and (2) the hem in front is the same length as the hem in back. My bust doesn’t make the front shorter than the back.
Back view.

I’ve been wearing this top all day and it’s been super comfortable. Velvet isn’t known for being the most breathable fabric, so I imagine it could get a bit sweaty under a heavy coat, but that’s a discomfort I would be willing to endure. Obviously, I haven’t had a chance to wash it yet, but if I run into any issues, I’ll try to update you. I’m also hoping to include a review on Hourglassy from someone who wears a smaller size.

In these photos I’m wearing it unaccessorized with a black pencil skirt, black tights, and black pumps. I think I need something big and gold around my neck. I’m also curious to see how it looks as a vest over one of my white shirts. If I wear it by itself, I’m seriously considering purchasing a mesh 3/4 length Sleevey Wonders.

I can’t wait to try this top with different pants and skirts and jewelry. How would you style this top for yourself?
