It’s my blog and I can cry if I want to, cry if I want to . . . .
My business plan pitch was not the shining presentation I had hoped for yesterday. We got home from the airport Wednesday afternoon to discover that my computer monitor had died, so we scrambled with various plans B and C to get everything ready. Then of course I overslept until 11 on Thursday morning. (When I flew home from a trip to Vietnam in 2002, I overslept on the second day back and missed my swearing-in ceremony for the 2nd Circuit.) Then we couldn’t find the location and missed my time slot entirely. Traffic wasn’t moving, so I got out of the car to run to the next block to find the site, and ended up leaving the three shirt samples that I had so lovingly steamed and ironed that morning in the back seat. It was a desperate situation. At least they still let me give my pitch.
The night before, I couldn’t wait for my pitch to be over with. Now I wish I could go back and do it again. I ran out of time (but I covered the most important details), I wasn’t confident (I would have been even less confident if I hadn’t been wearing one of my shirts!), and I’m thinking of all the answers I wish I’d given to the question, “Other than more buttons, how is your shirt different from any other shirt? Why not just buy a larger shirt and have it altered?” After a good night’s sleep, I have much better answers today. I’m going to post them in my next entry just to make myself feel better. (Nothing after the jump.)
Still rooting for you, girlfriend!
Ha ha! Thanks, Alice!! We find out the winners on July 8.
