You haven’t heard from me in a while. Last January, I made a lateral career move and transitioned from working as an accountant for media production to working in a corporate accounting department. The first part of 2024 was me trying to pull accounting concepts I learned in class years ago out of my brain and use them on a daily basis. After mastering my new job, I decided to take an after work German class for six hours a week for three months. Which brings us to the summer, I moved across Berlin to a much bigger apartment and visited my family in Michigan and Cape Cod. In the fall, I had surgery to remove my thyroid due to an auto-immune disease. Aside from some weight gain, my surgery has been a success and I’m proud of my body for how fast I was able to bounce back from major surgery.

This brings us to 2025, and one of my goals this year is to engage more in creative activities. You can look forward to a monthly post from me and I am even hoping to do a sewing project (I’m dreaming of a fitted denim jumpsuit). As for my wardrobe, it’s been almost four years since I gave up being a minimalist, a lot of shopping later and I’m happy with my wardrobe (and even ready for a clean-out). This year I really want to focus on buying higher quality pieces for my wardrobe which led to me trying the German brand Seidensticker.

Seidensticker has long been listed on our “Best Clothing for Big Busts” page but this is the first official review. All items I tried on are size 48 in German sizing. My measurements in these photos are 50-40-46 (128-103-117 cm) and I am 5’7 (170 cm) tall. The brand also has many plus size clothing options and an EU shop in English. Shirts are available in select sizes and colors on the US Amazon site (this is an affiliate link meaning we may earn a commission if you click through and make a purchase, at no additional cost to you).

My favorite item and the only one I kept is a jersey blouse in black. The fabric is thick and warm. I’ve worn it four times without any pilling or fabric snags.

Unfortunately, it shrunk a little after the first wear so I sewed the placket closed with a running stitch. On sale this blouse cost 69.99 EUR and originally retailed for 99.99.

Next, I tried the regular fit blouse in white.  It is 100% cotton, buttons up to the collar and has a button at the neck closure. I found the blouse to be a bit too small and also too sheer for me. The same style comes in a thicker cotton twill which might provide more coverage. I am also wondering if the 100% cotton fabric will shrink after being washed for the first time. This blouse goes up to a size 54 and I might try the dark blue in size 50 this spring. The blouse sells for 59.99 EUR.

The slim fit blouse in pink is also 100% cotton. The buttons stop above the bust and there is not a collar closure button. While this is the slim fit, it has more room in the bust than the regular fit. Like the white blouse, I find the pink to be a little too sheer. This size feels like the correct size to go under a blazer or jacket or to wear on the weekends out to dinner.  Size 48 is unfortunately the biggest size in this style. For work, I would like a slightly looser fit and if this shirt were to shrink at all it would no longer fit and for this reason I will not be purchasing this style at this time.

Have any of you owned shirts from Seidensticker? Or found any other shirts that work on a full bust?
