Well hello again to you all. This week I planned to deviate a bit from the recent US shopping trip reviews with a review of this spring’s grunge style, but let’s get back to that next week. The reason for this sudden change of plans was the Campbell & Kate parcel waiting for me when I got home today, and I just had to try it on immediately to compare it to the high street shirt I had been wearing.
Easy to guess which was a better fit–the Campbell & Kate shirt of course! The high street spring trend coral shirt was a very decent fit for what the shirt is, especially it being from a Nordic high street store which tend to be bigger around the bust and roomier around the shoulders. That is because statistically the Nordics are a busty and tall region on the world map. I’m only 5’4″ myself, though, only an inch taller than Darlene.
Please excuse the bra. I was only trying the shirt on after work! I’m not wearing it outside like this. 🙂 I’m so happy to finally add a comfortable and well-fitting classic white shirt to my wardrobe and to start styling it. I have tons of styling ideas buzzing in my head and would love to hear your favorite ways of wearing a classic white shirt–with jeans and casual shoes to lunch on a Saturday or strictly to the office?
A note from Darlene: I promise I didn’t put Tina up to writing this post, and she paid for her own shirt, but of course I’m thrilled that it looks so amazing on her and that she wanted to write about it. You can see two more photos of her wearing a C&K shirt last October on FB (front view and side view), including shirt and bra size information. Don’t worry about hurting my feelings if you have any critical observations to make in the comments. Personally, I can’t wait to see how else she wears it.
It looks great! You can see her waist definition a lot better and the shorter length suits her Tina’s frame better too. 🙂
Hei Tina! Where do you have most success buying tops/shirts/dresses in Finland? I go every summer and would love to know which stores to visit, and which not to bother with. I am a 28FF-32F, usually a 34-36, depending on my diet. (I’m writing this in English only so others/Darlene won’t wonder what I’m saying!) Kiitos!
Moi Veerukkka! My Nordic fav is VILA but their recent styles haven’t quite worked for me but do think they would work for your size. Also YourFace and some other labels Aleksi13 carries have been successes often and also Soaked in Luxury and Sandwich lables in MODA stores are often good. And all Nordic lables really – Gina Tricot, Lindex, KappAhl and H&M. Just lately have started preferring nicer quality. It’s the spanish stores like Zara and Mango which only suit petite frames – although from Mango you can find some pieces sometimes.
oh and Seppälä really has stepped up their game and have had lots of luck there.
Now I’ll be able to power shop when I’m in town and not at our mökki! Thank you so much for the information!
So, now I’m looking for cheap flights to Finland….
🙂 I actually find shopping in US far more easier. Most brands seem to suit me well and was AMAZED by the dress selection for plus sized women at Macys! We’ve nothing like that here sadly.
I have Campbell and Kate shirts too and LOVE them!! Way better fit than other button down shirts!
…and that coral shirt is gorgeous on you. Love that color. Wowza.
Posts like this always make me come thisclose to buying some Campbell and Kate shirts – they look so great, and I know I would love them. I just don’t have much call for button down shirts, really. :/ Working in the entertainment industry, it just doesn’t come up much. Still, the more I see, the more tempted I am. I think next time there’s a sale, I’ll have to go for it. Thanks for the post!
