I’m busily ironing (with my new iron–yay!) the models’ shirts for this morning’s shoot. In the meantime, take a look at Brittany’s latest post on her Thin and Curvy blog where she reviews Trashy Diva dresses. They even have jackets! I need to lose a few more inches in my waist to be able to fit the jackets I like, but that would be a lot less expensive than some of the other options I’ve written about. Also, I wonder if anyone has ever tried Stop Staring? I found their ad in Lucky magazine, and it looks like a possibility.
Okay, back to ironing!
I bought a wiggle dress from Stop Staring once. The quality of it was very high, but the proportions were all wrong for me. I'm petite (5'2") and a 28FF, and I found that the dress was made for a much taller, less busty figure. I had to have my tailor shorten the waist section, as it was at least 4 inches too low for me. Even after that, the shoulders were about an inch and a half too big in all directions, which made for a VERY low neckline and cap sleeves which kept slipping off my shoulders. Also there was too much fabric on the back side of the torso compared to the front side, so the front was tight across my boobs but the back poufed out because of all the excess fabric.
I'd stick with custom. I've noticed a bunch of sellers on Etsy that will make dresses pretty much identical to those you'll find from Stop Staring, but they'll make them in your choice of fabric and according to your exact measurements. And the prices are the same, somehow! Just do an Etsy search for "custom wiggle dress" and you'll see what I mean.
Thanks for linking to me! I'm glad you liked the review! Your link to my blog doesn't seem to work though…?
Oooh – I just fell in love with those Trasy Diva dresses… Summer won't suck for much longer, I assure you 😉
It's so helpful that you've tried Stop Staring already. Thanks, Mizblum!
Link fixed, Brittany!
