On January 27, I reviewed three Shoshanna dresses that I liked at Saks. Now, you can find two of her dresses on HSN, each costing only $79.90.
The scoop neck dress is my favorite style of the two. It even has pockets. However, according to reviewers, sizing tends to run small, and the top even looks tight on Shoshanna in the video. The shiny fabric doesn’t help.
One commenter, who normally wears a size 6 in pants and a 36D/DD bra*, loved the dress but found the size 10 dress to be too small at the bust. She felt that a size 12 would make her bottom half look pregnant. My vote: if she could find a size that fit the bust, she should go for alterations on the bottom. As we all know from Aunt Sybil’s dressmaker, hips are easier to accommodate than breasts.
Thumbs down for the second dress. See it after the jump.
Both commenters looked heavier in this dress. Although I like the way flutter sleeves hide flabby upper arms, they also hide everything else. Until a reader buys Dress #2 and proves me wrong, this dress says “I give up”.
*Is anyone else thinking she may actually be a 32/34 F/G?
