Leota is a brand that I have had my eye on for a while but never tried before. I wanted new dresses for my winter wardrobe and felt that last winter’s favorite brand Lauren by Ralph Lauren was just too formal for my work from home look. The Leota brand varies widely in price from over a $100 to the $30-$40 range at different retailers.

The first dress I tried was this black floral print.

This style is called Ilana and it is reversible. One side is a wide boat neck while the other side is a scoop neck. The fabric of this dress is a smooth lightweight jersey with no lining. I liked the fit of this dress but not the pattern and sent it back. It is very light weight and would be great for summer.

I tried the Sweetheart dress in an orange/fuchsia/red flowered print. The first time I tried the dress on I thought the print was too loud and it showed my bra. After trying the dress with a different bra I loved it. The skirt is a true wrap but the inner part of the wrap skirt comes almost to the side seam and there doesn’t seem to be much threat of an accidental peep show.

The sweetheart neck comes down a bit low and could expose a hint of cleavage. In normal times, I would classify this as a going out dress and not a work dress. But it’s 2020 and most likely I will wear it as a daily working from home dress to pep up my wardrobe a bit.

The final dress is the same style as the first dress. It is the Ilana in a black crepe jersey fabric. The fit is a bit different in this dress than the black flowered one. This could be because the fabric is different and heavier. The waist is higher and is an empire waist on me.

I kept this dress as the black dress I have worn for the last two winters was worn out. I also like the sleeve length which is more elbow than three-fourth length. In both of the Ilana dresses I am wearing my seam-free Elomi Amelia bra.

Leota has sizing from XXS (000) to 5X (34W). Please note that I am wearing size 1X (sometimes listed as 1L for this brand) in all three dresses. I am 5’7 and measure 49-40.5-46 in these pictures. The dresses are wrinkle free and can be washed in the washing machine. I also love that all of these dresses were long enough for my height. Depending on how these two dresses wear I can see myself incorporating more Leota dresses into my wardrobe.
